Doula | Birth Sister
Hey everyone, I’m Kyliah! I am so thrilled to have you here! Welcome to Rooted Embraces! Originally from the Chicagoland area, I currently live in Columbia, SC. with my husband, Cason, and dog, Moon. I am a lover of crafts, theatre, cooking/baking, making memories, and traveling to visit family or friends!
My life has been dedicated to advocating, empowering, and building connections with others. From my time working with survivors of intimate partner violence in St. Louis, to my role as a School Social Worker in MN, I’ve seen firsthand, the positive impact and outcomes of having intentional, transparent, and compassionate relationships and how essential it is to my approach as a doula.
Services
doula [doo-luh] (noun)
A birth sister, commonly known as a doula (pronounced do’-la), is a professional birth worker who provides non-medical support to mothers and families. Birth sisters/doulas are trained and certified to assist mothers. A birth sister provides non-bias evidence-based information, techniques, support, and resources to aid a mom through pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period. They can also provide tools to help the mother advocate for herself and her baby.
